The Anti-Stress Mineral

Excellent words on the importance of Magnesium!

Cara McMaster

Magnesium isn’t just important…it is ESSENTIAL! It is involved in hundreds of reactions in the body and is extremely important for heart health. As a bonus magnesium has an extremely relaxing effect on our muscles which has given it the reputation of being the “anti-stress” mineral.

    Are you getting enough?

Magnesium deficiency is fairly common, especially in people who eat a processed food diet or people who over cook their veggies. Unfortunately, another contributing factor is food being grown in poor quality soil. Industrial farming has stripped the soil of many minerals. If the minerals are not in the soil the plants growing in that soil will be lacking.

    Magnesium rich foods!

Almost all magnesium comes from plants, with the exception of sea foods.

– Magnesium is a component of chlorophyll and is therefore found in dark green vegetables. Choose dark leafy greens such as spinach, kale and beet greens.
